Ignore files by string/filter

Postby davey22 » Wed Feb 13, 2019 12:45 am

I've been trying this out on my video collection and it's been great so far with one exception:

All my indexed media is on a network drive, which is used by mac, windows & linux computers. As a result, my mac clients leave files with a "._" prefix, which store extended file attributes for each file. Thus, every file shows up twice in EazyFlixPix, with one working video, and one metadata file.

Is there a way filter these out? Or add such a feature?

So if you have a video called movie.mp4, the Mac OS creates another file called ._movie.mp4?

Doesn't seem like the smartest design...to create another mp4 file that's not an mp4.

The ._movie.mp4 file has the hidden attribute, so it's generally not a problem when browsing files. But the Apple-specific HFS & APFS filesystems want to store extended attributes, such as tags or short comments.
